​Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA and CRPA-P) Training Requirements:
CRPA /CRPA-P Peer Recovery Certifications require 46 Hours of approved Training in order to become eligible for NYS Certification through the NYCB. At Finding Jude we offer the fundamental workshops to meet these requirements.
The fundamental 46 Hr Training Requirements can be obtained by attending:

Recovery coach academy

Curriculum developed by Connecticut Center for Addiction Recovery (CCAR); for CRPA & CARC Certifications;
​
CCAR's Recovery Coach Academy (RCA) is a (30 hour) certificate course, considered to be the standard for Recovery Coaching. If you are considering a career as a recovery coach or peer advocate this workshop will enlighten and inspire you. Recovery coaches play a vital role in the addiction treatment and continuum of care. Many more coaches are needed to support the growing gap in community based recovery resources.

NYS Medicaid now reimburses treatment and recovery agencies for Peer Recovery Services (CRPA), evidence that the practice & role of the Recovery Peer Advocate/Coach is valued and effective in supporting a person's sustainable recovery.

 Maintaining the integrity and professionalism of the Recovery Coach and Peer Advocate professions is a key priority of  the New York Certification Board (NYCB). 
It is critical that those supporting others in their recovery follow a set of professional standards and principles. This workshop presents a comprehensive introduction to the ethical considerations for a recovery coach/peer support/advocate (CRPA, CARC). It is a requirement and has been accepted for these NYS Certifications.

Recovery Coach Professionalism

​12 CONTACT HOURS FOR USE TOWARD CEU CREDIT

 Now that Recovery Coaching services are required to be offered by many OASAS facilities , many more organizations are looking to hire Coaches that can easily demonstrate a high level of professionalism. As the landscape of where those roles are needed expands,  we are seeing a greater need for skilled coaches to work in other professional settings, such as hospitals, treatment facilities, police stations and court systems. 
Participants will learn to define professionalism as it pertains to recovery coaching;develop the various characteristics that a professional possesses;Understand their personal accountabilities in their role as recovery coaches;Learn the importance of the concept “stay in their lane” when it comes to working in a large system, like a hospital, court and/or treatment system;Reexamine the roles of a recovery coach in order to maintain good boundaries when working in professional settings.
